What Has Become of Me
What has become of me From the child that loved to play, To the friends that once were , The love that came as a spur. Oh how time has drifted away. Life gave difficult roads all leading astray, Once in the fields of lush green grass nowadays I see dull and grey. Time has always taken the things that I loved , so I calmly wait to be lifted away , as the ashes from my cigarette dances down to the ashtray; I realize nothing is permanent death is always at bay but that’s what makes life beautiful, like the tears in March and April bring beauty in the month of May. I spent the rest of my time in thought, and as I sat and read the meditations it dawned on me that day , if I could talk to the me of the past what is it that I would say ? “Now is the life you live any different from if it were taken away “?
