Keeping My Mind Off the Pandemic
If I did not have poetry, cartooning and painting how could I be alive? In stealth mode, they used to keep me insanely happy. I am down to intermittent bouts of joy now, for I am a people person. I have not seen seven of my grandchildren since January. It is November! The END of NOVEMBER! I am a people-person and this is killing me when I think of it. I write ten poems a day. I paint two to five paintings a week minimum. Not to mention my four hours a night playing scrabble games. I love word games! This is keeping my mind off what I want to do. I want to laugh and skip and sing and hug my grandchildren. I want to hear their stories, and be delighted by them. I want to find out what they want for Christmas from them. I want to be the fun grandma that takes them shopping. I have not been inside a store since February. It is the weirdest time of my life. If I stop writing and painting I remember there's a horrible pandemic, which is why I am creating at a frenzied pace which makes my usual frenzied pace feel like no pace at all.
