The Tears of Immanuel
Shall we then accede to this awkward demise is it our last sacred calling while our eyes are fixed to the prize to feel ourselves falling while redemption stays just out of reach all the beauty we are passing just beyond the clasp of our fingertips erstwhile it seems this is the only perception we have Shall we weep then for each other with all the love in our heart yet feel it slips from our lives on the hard ice of lies while swallowing this potions bitter draught so will it be that which we refuse to see will we fade with ourselves into obscurity all the dreams of our hope all the tender mercy in humanity a flickering flame in the dark to be no longer ever seen What shall we do then shall we merely tango with the devil with our dull eyes upturned being so foolishly enamored bleeding the death of the innocence held in the serpentine hands those choreographers of deception to convince us of our non substance closing the doorways to our rightful place in Eden Shall we always choose beguiled or bathe in the baptism will the tears of Immanuel be forever forsaken shall we hang upon his Roman cross sadly aware of all we have lost or shall will set light to the candles still waiting for us held in the hands of all the Angels Shall we reach for the goal of this creations coronal granted to all in the lustrous truth of our soul or shall we see ourselves fallen vanishing in laughter's dissonance of corruption shall we give in to the whims of those masters of deception and all the while our eyes fixed on the prize as it passes us by just out of the reach of our redemption Will we be so defiled and forever servile shall we hang here on this Roman cross so sadly aware of all we have lost will we never see the tears of Immanuel and how they were meant for us
