Empty my pockets please empty my heart empty everything and bring to me another start I am wet with grief and sinking all my saddest days of thinking cannot move this earth to change one bit cannot stop another from another’s hit dogs bark and howl at moons and sirens screaming tears of mothers at the coffins streaming politicians reassuring measuring and planning every word will I get elected if they heard we hear we fear that what is happening may be all too real we feel we fear no one seems to have a safe solution there is more than one kind of pollution it is us. It’s always been. It is we who make the rain the tears that others cry alone in every darkened home it is our pain we own every beat of every heart and every breath and for the sake of soul and argument we own every death.
