Grace Omalley Irish Pirate Queen
Where is Tioboid? Jon asked when he saw their captain arrive on deck. Hidden, Grainne assured, before she slapped pirate heathen off ship. She would run him through, so he turned his attention to killing others. Grace O’Malley was a cutthroat, eager to do what had to be done. Giving birth to Tioboid last hour had not quenched her thirst for blood. Seeing her on deck gave her crew new energy and determination. The pirates were on knees, fearful and white-faced, shaking with fear. Most swore allegiance to the wild pirate queen of Ireland that day. Grainne never backed down from a fight; she was a hearty scrapper. Historians pretended to ignore her, but folklore threw her into songs. Exploits known in Rockfleet, whispered about in Clare Island Abbey. Where she married the handsome Donal O’Flaherty at age sixteen. Donal taught her Irish politics, and she taught him the art of pirating. Proud to say I would have followed this whirlwind champion anywhere. When Donal was murdered, she led the charge to take back the castle. She took back Flaherty Castle and six more to show what we could do. Grace O’Malley never did anything in a small way.
