Letter To Miss Liberty
On this quiet Sunday morn, just about a minute or two ago, On a website page, I vaguely saw a glimpse of what looked like Miss Liberty. At that moment, a thought of her infused my mind, and I was instantly compelled to follow through with my concern for her. Whereupon, I decided and proceeded to write a letter to sweet Miss Liberty. She and I have never met, even though some years ago I did visit New York. My time there was too brief for us to meet, but my thoughts of her have always been one of wonderment. Anyway, I must reach out to her with all sincerity. Dear Miss Liberty. I hope these few lines become a comfort blanket to warm your heart or soft tissue to dry your eyes. I cannot imagine that your heart has not been broken like mine over our country's problems, especially over the last few years. The once United America of red, white, and blue that I once knew has become a hateful and divisive red in one camp and blue in another, going in completely opposite directions. I imagine that it must be most difficult for you to observe such discord, disfunction, and disunity. Disfunction in America, land of the free and home of the brave that is, the likes of which I've not seen in my lifetime. And I have seen a lot; I have experienced a lot. Centuries ago, America became a very unique idea whose time had come. Not everything about us has been good, but history records the many wrongs we have revisited and sought to correct. Someone once said that America will cease to be great if she ceases to be good. O Miss Liberty, I beg that you will continue standing courageous and strong, hoovering tall over the rising tides and keeping hope alive for all who brave our shores as well as for us who reside. I certainly do not want you to feel alone, afraid, and isolated. Were I not a God-fearing person, I would be afraid and worried. Again, Miss Liberty, I was thinking about you and wondering how you were feeling through all that you feel, see, and hear. Everyone tends to get very busy and distracted. I just wanted to touch base with you and remind you that you are not alone, and your task remains critically vital. Finally, Miss Liberty, please allow me to leave you with these words of our God. "For kingship belongs to the LORD, and he rules over the nations". Psalms 22:28 King James Bible Sincerely, Your Fellow American 110820PS
