A Fallen Soldier
A Fallen Soldier. A fallen soldier lies among so many, a hero and protector who fought to save; then his life went to the grave. Battles fought and won; our freedom saved; he is now counted among the brave. A fallen soldier once stood among the many, his life tragically taken do not be mistaken! A fallen soldier: remember his name, he left his family and carries no shame. A son or daughter off to war, leaving the last time through the door; now his parents have him no more. They sit and grieve, for their fallen soldier; in who they still believe! A fallen soldier: courageously kissed a family he called his own; now his life taken, no more dreams in the making. A soldier’s children both big and small, share a story they want to, “tell all”. A fallen soldier among the many, their glad to tell you, “he’s a hero too”! A fallen soldier among the many, lies beneath our flag of plenty! So many lost their life, plain taken; there is no mistaking. Say a prayer and count your blessings too, for a soldier has fallen; instead of me or you. A fallen soldier tried and true sometimes leaves behind a soldier or two. Partly soldier, partly brother, they are a family like no other. A thought to remember, his life was taken but not forsaken! Debbie Knapp 05/10/2020
