Ambedo
I stand still along the shore~ I was here two decades ago, The sand where I used to walk on with rainbows of seashells in my mind, where did it go? My eyes are hooked on the empty lonesome shell... where did it go? Still beautiful sans life inside~ Still glistening at the kiss of sunrise. I look around~ where have all the seashells gone? some have faded, some are broken some lost their luster, some become dwelling places of crawling creatures big and small. Obscure quests enshroud me as the morning sun warms the shore, I put the empty shell on my palm I wonder as I look in distant horizon~ Why we, humans are devoid of shell? Why don't we have rainbow-colored skin? I wish a shell grow in us~ to share shelters to the roofless when our race is done. As the waves ripple upon my feet I look back to where I've been~ My footprints were washed away by the tide; And as the tepid water goes up on my knees, I throw the empty shell to where it should belong. My quest now clear~ Yes, our shell is there to shield us when our innermost chancel~ be hit by truculent arrows; The shell is just inside us To feel more with our human skins for we are here to touch and to love.
