Six Blessings
She had six children in the fifties Three girls and three boys, all healthy And willing to give back to this world Hearts who would listen to God above ~~~ She gave the world her very best Six of them, all cherished and blessed Wonderful miracles from her love Who whispered intimacy through her ~~~ She listened to the whisper of the wind Breathed in joy that came from giving Of her spirit, her kindness and gentleness All the feelings she had deep within her ~~~ She was sometimes very fearful and worried Finding it difficult to “cast her cares” On the One who created her and them Those children who became her best friends ~~~ She silently hoped for the chance to encourage Murmuring inspirations that she discovered Within her mind, where God was her guide Flavoring their lives with opportunity and ideas ~~~ She didn’t ever think of herself as special Only those around her could truly explain The amazing wonders found in her heart Where everyone felt warmth and fervor ~~~ She had six children, six who loved her so When she was in her eighties and had to go They said goodbye with only the thoughts Of seeing her again, when life was at an end Dedicated to my Granny Arrowood, who had six children, 3 boys and 3 girls – and who I could write about for the rest of my life and never have enough words on paper to express her passionate nature!
