Once Part of Mine
“Please have patience with me”, she said “And what is it with you?” he asked. “I waited for my tranquility, my serene redemption Amidst hatred and cursed words That smashes each good intention, one by one…” “Go on… and then?” His voice was cold, unmoved. “Then… then I waited for a cold, unfriendly touch of death. I waited and waited and never could hear the footsteps. Rather, I was thriving with all my flesh and bones As a scapegoat for an utter inescapable agony.” “And ... then?” He asked his next question. And then... I waited for divine mercy. It bestows on one...who has lost everything. It nurtures one, who heals the wound carefully. And I could see none, I could hear nothing.” “And then?” The same voice asked the question. “And then… I understood that I was not waiting for anyone Other than a tiny little face, who was once part of mine.”
