Late at night, when I lay my head down to end the day, I go down through the list of things I'm thankful for - mostly the amazing family members, friends, pets, occasions, chances, and experiences I've been blessed with - and I am dumbfounded by the bounty of miracles, friendship and love, that fate, or happenstance, (or something more divine), has seen fit to place in my path, none of which I am remotely worthy or deserving of ... I have squandered endless moments and minutes, wasted wonderful opportunities that most people would cherish and utilize, and pushed the envelope of what is considered crazy ... I have stretched the definitions of 'foolish', 'careless', and 'unwise', and even intentionally placed myself at Grim's doorstep, via the extremes of my self-abusive and irresponsible behavior, and yet ... I'm still HERE ... counting my blessings .... To say I've lived a charmed life would be a huge understatement, and while I can't say I've learned all I should have from my errors, or reaped all the wisdom expected from my poor choices and their results, I CAN say, with no hesitation, that I am, on a daily and often hourly basis, extremely GRATEFUL for All of it, and all of YOU, the amazing people who have touched my life along the way ... and I no longer take ANY of it for granted ... EVER ... I should have left this earth fifteen years ago, and every moment since then has been an awesome, priceless GIFT, and one more blessing that I've not earned ... one thing I HAVE learned, though, without question, is that, in the grand scheme of things and the pursuit of dreams, peace-of-mind, and accomplishment, whatever happens during the rest of this day, and more importantly, this LIFE, is all good, because to simply have woken up this glorious morning ... Is ENOUGH.
