Lord, Bless the Path Our Feet Take
Lord! Bless the Path our Feet Take! Lord! Bind earth for the feet of lost souls in Death's swamp, who find solace in hating, serve pride with a lie, love Hell's promise of strength more than peace found in Grace. Count me fool (oh, chagrin!) who's plagued too by such traps, who quite often, as well, loves to pass out harsh raps on the knuckles to those who exhibit my sin as if doing so somehow might elevate win (acts bring honor from God and a smile to His face)! Sad's the fact, through my sin, I more move Him to cry as deep chambers of heart slosh with pride, crave vain pomp! Lord! Friend's sin blurs my vision; their virtues ignored as I elevate self by recounting mistakes they have made and still make. How I love to place blame, to count ways that they've hurt me! The times I forgave them (they did not deserve), I will take to my grave! May that prove I am worthy of heaven at last (for it helps stem foul odor, to sterilize past)! Or is this more 'Just' action that piles on to shame? Help us pray more for Justice for all, not seek breaks, that God's Grace is sufficient, Christ's gift more adored!
