With Gratitude
WITH GRATITUDE She makes me feel so needed. No one in the world has words of endearment like she does. With her I feel my life has meaning. Of all the women on earth none has the commitment as she has. She tells me she would never, never leave me, for I make her feel complete. We are one. How I fix things ‘round the house, how I cook and do the laundry, no one can compete. I hear applause. A new day with new emotions. Now I am a pest, a burden she just cannot accept. I know I am. But still she would not leave me. For that’s not what her good friends would expect. Not from her. And now she tells me with abhorrence: I don’t need you. I’ll never ask a thing from you. Never again. You help me just because you have to. Your actions have never ever been really true. And I hate you. My heart feels broken. I want to build a fence, a wall to fend the attacks. But it won’t last. For then, again I feel I’m wanted. Anew I feel not hated, and forgiven for my relapse I feel a little love. I feel I am so fortunate. I understand I’m given more than I deserve. I know I do. It feels good to feel I’m needed. To feel I am worth something, even just as a reserve. Thanks, my Narcisa Lou.
