Check Mate
I stared at the chess board in disbelief, against wife I was winning my first game, with rook I knocked over her hungry queen, and my clever pawns had cornered her king!! I felt the power surge within my soul, and with my knight it was check mate and done!! She smiled bright, gave me a kiss and a hug, and fixed me special dinner for the night! A long night of great passion love ensued, again it was me with check mate and done! have stars turned their astronomical spin? To give me such power, such easy win? but light was soon shed on truth of the case, it’s her cousin’s wedding in her birthplace! was planing to go, wanted gold necklace..... that short surge of power and first chess win! taught me a lesson never to win again! ‘Games Mental or Physical’ contest 2nd placement Written 5/oct/2020 sponsor William Kekaula
