Inside I mumble, “Grrrr.” I pause a moment. Sometimes for a while! Perhaps a break from thinking I might take. Then I resume, take up my pen, and smile. I hear her footfall when she’s come awake! I hear her pattering inside my brain. “Use this word. No, use that word,” she might say. I thank my muse again and then again. She comes through for me almost any day.
