Searching
If I gaze into the sky, will I see you there? A familiar face among the clouds floating by? I would do anything for one more moment to share. Searching, I may not find you, at least I must try. As dawn slowly fills the sky, giving light to a new day. Will I awaken and find it was all a dream? You will be beside me, in the same place you always lay. You will laugh at me, telling you how real it did seem. But in reality I woke and you were not there. In that moment, I felt an unbearable wave of pain. The overwhelming disappointment leaves me in despair. The beautiful morning darkens as it cries tears of rain. We shared life, from a special to an ordinary day. Then a day remained in darkness, and you were gone. Devastated, I asked how it could have happened this way? I was lost, I couldn't accept the thought of going on.   Together we travelled down life's uncertain road. I laughingly called you my biggest fan. I wonder how I will manage to carry the load. Without sharing your strength, I don't know that I can. The air around me suddenly turned cold the day you died. Deep within, there is nothing but a never ending chill. I will no longer feel your constant warmth at my side. So I will search for you everywhere, everyday...until. slw
