You Don'T Know My Story Part One
"You don't know my story; you just know the chapter that you met me on."DK Metcalf. 'Love don't judge' *** Each one of our stories has a beginning, a middle and an ending just like a poem, short story or novel for example. In essence we are born, we live out our lives and than we die. "It is appointed unto man (or woman) once to die after that the judgement." Who ultimately places either benevolent or harsh judgement upon us, but Jesus Christ, himself. "And what is it that God has said? That he has given us eternal life and that this life is in his Son. So whoever has God's Son has life; whoever does not have his Son does not have life. I have written this to you who believe in the Son of God so that you may know you have eternal life." (1st John 11-13) My own individual chapters in my life did not originate on Poetry Soup. Throughout part of my adult life I wanted to be a poet. But I wanted poetry and writing to remain a hobby, instead of a job. Seeking after gainful employment by taking advantages of the avenues presented to me. However my desire for other forms of employment did not materialize. My family and I have had volunteer experiences primarily grass roots politics for the Democratic Party. But I also volunteered for Services Alternatives at the Everett Senor Center. (In honor of Everett City Councilman Carl Gipson. It has been renamed The Carl Gipson Senior Center. The Northwest Neighborhood Association when I was in my 40's and later on activities at the Senior Center when I was still in my 50's. It included a senior writing forum, and the sunshine singers among a few other things. My chapters of my life involve attending churches of various denominations. Mainly by myself, but also with family. I joined the Baptist Church but I am currently a member of Lutheran at Faith Lutheran Church and a member of their holiday choir. Of course COVID-19 has impacted all of our lives! But "Faith can move mountains." We pray for those victims of man made and natural disasters, and for all who have been impacted by COVID-19. "Lord in your mercy hear our prayers!" We pray from those who have lost employment and/or loved ones. "Lord in your mercy, hear our prayers." The best things in our lives are our unwritten chapters of our lives. "The Past is history, the future a mystery. The present is a present and that is why it is called a gift." Love in Christ Jesus!
