Blest Quietude
Once haunted by harrowing despair of the past Miserably tortured, indeed feeling aghast I sought the Prince of Peace*, my cares to Him I cast He assured blest quietude I enjoyed at last. Then there was time my soul faced challenging crises I called to Christ Who with great compassion blesses He made me trust assuring Scripture promises Anchored on what His “Fear not” surely expresses. When so exhausted midst excellent quest-striving Almost wallowing in intellectual grieving My mind had to give up pursuits of vain proving To rest calmly in God’s truths for problem solving Tired from attacks of arrogance-driven torment In the guise of humble faith-propelled engagement I yielded to the Lord’s steadfast empowerment while fulfilling with joy stewardship commitment. I thank the Almighty for His peace-bounty grant Quieting my heart from pressures and distress’ rant Enabling me to stay serenely jubilant Living for Him by His grace, truly triumphant. *Isaiah 9:6 For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace.
