OFFERINGS Prince Goutom was brought up in immense luxury without any knowledge of distress. As a young chap at the age of sixteen for the first time he was out of the palace. He realized the ruthless reality of life associated with misery, poverty, ailments, senile decay ending in death. He left the palace in search of peace and ultimate insight and introspection to guide life. Through sufferings and devoted meditation, he was enlightened with ethereal rays of eternity. prince turned Lord Biddha reverential preacher of divine wisdom. A florist was selling flowers on roadside. Among varieties of flowers, there was only one abloom Lotus, rare in that season. So, he put a high price tag for the Lotus. Everybody was eager to buy that unique flower special lotus a rare bloom in the season allured each buyer. The florist noticed crowd of populace walking on the road. Being inquisitive, he came to know that Lord Buddha has come this place. Everybody is rushing to visit Him with flower. Two kings from different states are also passing. Both stopped and wished to buy the unique lotus. As one was ready to buy the flower at high price, the other offered to pay more. So, the price of flower was rising higher. The florist was puzzled and refused to sell the flower. He decided to sell the flower directly to Lord Buddha to get maximum price. florist was tempted apprehending highest gain to sell to great saint. Florist started to walk with the public to meet Lord Buddha. He reached to see the pristine persona. He listened to his messages and was whelmed and mesmerized as he looked at the tranquil face of the sage. Florist approached and bowed to Lord Buddha and then offered the peerless lotus. Lord Buddha said, ’Dear, how can I pay for this wonderful blossom?’ Florist again bowed and told ‘I wish a wisp of dust from your feet as token of your blessing.’ veneration to wise sacred sagacious sublime supreme soul. 08/29/20 Note.
