You took my dearest loved one and replaced them with grief. I never wanted grief, I never asked for grief. You struck in the night with no warning. You stripped me of any free will, any sense of choice, any other option but to say goodbye. Yet ironically you took that from me too...I didn’t get to say goodbye! Grief is like a never ending tunnel. It’s darkness, it’s the unknown, it’s anger, fear, sadness and loss all encapsulated into one. It’s perhaps a necessity though. After all, people say that the only certainty in life is death. And so grief is a process, a journey, a presence. People also say that time is a healer. I will therefore let grief stay a while but there will come a time when it will need to leave, a time when life will have to go on, and I want to chose when that will be. 18.08.2020
