Hopeful
As I stare out of my bedroom window into the darkness, I begin to think about what might bring me happiness. Is it the quietness of the subtle dark night, illuminating with a tinge of blue light? Is it the peacefulness of non existent sounds or the bellowing of the far away hounds? I too long for some type of answer as to what we are going through. Do I block out the sad details of what we know to be true? Or do I breath deeply, relax, take in the night air and try not to care? I cannot pinpoint exactly what is going on around me. Do I close my eyes and try to pretend not to see? Or shall I continue to be careful, grateful and mindful and remain hopeful? I think the latter is all I can be, until we all can truly see and someday, yes, one-day, we will all be free. Let us all enjoy happiness within! This is a lovely poem that my mom wrote:).
