To Be a Bee
in my garden towards the East, the honey bees have built a hive, where human traffic is the least, their busy low hum comes alive. swishing across my garden plot, in one and twos for the nectar, then hum their way back to their spot, to fill the queen bee’s honey jar! the white lily pond to my right, is water for their enterprise, they stop to drink between a flight, just a small droplet for their size! at times they fly to acer tree, where ladybirds have bamboo nest, perhaps leisure and they are free, have queen’s permission for a rest! they truly know my garden well, like driver of a taxi hire, from honey suckle to blue bell, visit the flowers they desire! snow drops to yellow daffodils, from tender fox gloves to sweet pea, they are at their unceasing skills, serving mankind without a fee! little birds, nest near the rose bush, in a wall of plants over fence, flying past the bees in their rush, living peacefully like good friends! I watch them all day from my chair, from under the shade of Oak tree, they either know or just don’t care, that men can laze as much as me!
