Always Together, In the Great Bye and Bye
Always Together, In The Great Bye And Bye In your arms, I once so prayed myself to die always together, in the great bye and bye now fate and time, our sweetest dreams delay I live in despair, as dark has its way Yet once in your angelic arms, love gave with infinite grace, this poor soul did save. In your arms, I once so prayed myself to die. Always together, in the great bye and bye. In you arms, O'lord may I soon again be wrapped with heavy passionate chains, blessing me with nights of your kisses, your dearest gifts our lives planned, as paradise so uplifts Yet this dream, heart set by a solemn vow is memory, torn from the here and now. In your arms, I once so prayed myself to die. Always together, in the great bye and bye. Robert J. Lindley, 7-26-2020 Romanticism, ( Let us stay together, "Once Was My Cry ", loving so strong in the sweet bye and bye ) Syllables Per Line: 0 11 11 10 10 10 10 0 11 11 0 11 11 10 10 10 10 0 11 11 Total # Syllables:168 Total # Words::::136 Note; Rewritten from a poem that was lost back in 1976... Actually it was burned back then. This version tho' not exact is as close to the original as my old age and my ailing memory, can now manage to recreate, changes made are minor. It is one of the few poems from 40+ years ago that I have a much greater memory of the verses and the reason it was composed in the first place.. RJL
