We'Ll Play
I feel sad at the death of my dog, my loyal companion and best friend. Our back yard was a gathering place, where we'd roughhouse and play without end. We shared many happy memories, like our walks in the park every night. And it's with a heavy hurting heart that I say farewell; he lost this fight. I will miss the camaraderie that allowed our hearts free range to roam. And the instant smile that crossed my lips, when he'd jump on me when I got home. Preoccupied with living my life, I'd sometimes forget to pat his head. And he got less love than he deserved, sleeping curled at the foot of my bed. Willy, the time's come to say goodbye, I hope we will meet again someday. But for now, I must bid you adieu, visit me in my dreams, and we'll play. (Quatrain) 07/24/2020
