The Old Sunshine
It was no ordinary thing, Neither was it a superfluous being, Richly, it dwelt among us to reign, Both on living and on non living things… Its radiance could be seen during the day, In its fullest bloom; it dazzles in dismay, It goes out at dawn from its shady bay, Just to ignite and radiate our ways…. I call you the old sunshine….. For as long as the earth exists, you'll never cease to shine, If only you were just mine, Then I’ll make sure that the rain doesn’t undermine… Without you; life would be so meaningless, Though sometimes your heat gets us depressed, But it’s only the person who wants success, That will toil under the sun, without minding the stress… Oh! How glorious you glow when you appear, During winter, you become so rare, Whenever we wash our clothes and you are not there, You make us worry and we begin to fear… When you were at your peak, many cried; “what kind of sun is this” wont we get fried? But whenever their clothes are not dried, Your absence is always felt region-wide… Through the ages, you shone like we were told, “The old sunshine” that never gets old, You dry up the rains into your manifold, You’ve never been proud, always remained bold...
