The worlds been shut out, my day off now begins. Heaven on earth thirteen acres in all. Surrounded by trees a peaceful windfall. All I hear is the breeze and some geese flying by. Some sparrows in the trees sing their sweet lullaby. The simple things in life that’s been overlooked. I’ll make a new entry, in the next chapter of my book. No traffic or trains, no carboard signs on the street. A true gift from God, I can hear my heartbeat. If tomorrow never comes I will at least have this day. Maybe I’ll tinker with my tractor or cut some fresh hay. Whatever I do will be by my own hand. I’m thankful to live on this small piece of land.
