A Day On the Farm
Today I’ll stay home, now safe from all harm. It’s time to enjoy a peaceful day on the farm. My puppies at play the morning breeze shuffles in. The worlds been shut out, my day off now begins. Heaven on earth thirteen acres in all. Surrounded by trees a peaceful windfall. All I hear is the breeze and some geese flying by. Some sparrows in the trees sing their sweet lullaby. The simple things in life that’s been overlooked. I’ll make a new entry, in the next chapter of my book. No traffic or trains, no carboard signs on the street. A true gift from God, I can hear my heartbeat. If tomorrow never comes I will at least have this day. Maybe I’ll tinker with my tractor or cut some fresh hay. Whatever I do will be by my own hand. I’m thankful to live on this small piece of land.
