When the Rain Comes In the Night
When the rain comes in the middle of the night, I am usually tucked up tight, While others may still be coming away from a fight, Looking a ghostly sight. When the rain comes in the middle of the night, It is often gone by first light, Which gives the sun more time to delight, With flowers encouraged to show off their colours oh so bright, And new life emerging out of the shower now that conditions are right, Butterflies emerging from homes now too tight, To showcase in all their glory wings now free for the sun to highlight, The sound of the birds in the trees announcing the time of an early flight, And the bees humming as they set off for work, only adding to, what is a glorious sight, For those who slept through the night. There is yet one more sight, You can see when the sun has reached a certain height, That even those who slept through the night, Can still appreciate, if their eyes are still bright, With memories on which the sun can still cast its light, The sight of bare skin never fails to delight.
