Our First Dance Together
Cultural fests were about to start, And all of us were asked to enroll in some form of art. Soon on the noticeboard, they had put up a chart On what was each ones part. Mine was dance, With which I always stood a chance. Sessions began and our dance partners were chosen. When I realized that he was also in my class,I felt as if my life got frozen. Cause we had hardly spoken to each other, And I wasn't sure if I had to treat him like my brother. By the end of our first class, things ended up quite normal, And we started being more informal. Under the same roof,we had our dance, And we were grooving in trance. There was a step were he had to hold me as I turn, For a moment,I felt that all my grief would burn. That was an amazing start for the day, Although my heart was longing for a stay. Time fled and by now we knew each other, And he turned out to be as loving and caring as my father. After our late evening classes,we would walk on the streets together, Admiring the outside weather, And we would have ice-cream beside the bonfire, While others would be playing their flute, harps and lyre. Finally he confessed his love for me as we climbed up the stairs, Overjoyed on hearing it, I felt as if all my make-up would be removed by this joyful tears. The scent of rose was nothing in front of his white shirt, which smelled like a bunch of jasmine flowers, Cause for now, it wasn't just the stage but the whole world seemed to be just ours. For every beat I moved gracefully my hip, And he ended the dance with a beautiful kiss on my lip.
