Free Course: Unthinking Skills and Lateral Thought During Covid19
I Babies Had IT Before the tomb, we must understand the WOMB Where as babies we are ONE with our environment It took time to assert, "Me and mine," creating "others" Sadly, babies had no power, or voice, to teach a parent OCEANIC thinking, not boxes-thinking, so-called science That destroys to understand: dissect, dissect, dissect Even past the atom, there's more unknown of the Universe What is wrong with us? May mediocre moth be more luminous? II Thanks to Harry Horsman, I am inspired to share ideas on oceanic thinking with readers during COVID19. The need is urgent, because our economic and political models use "box thinking" and has no real solutions to the environmental pollution & ravaging of ocean, rivers, forest, and marginal peoples and regions. Of course, the summary is that we must see the environment is an extension of ourselves. Better still, the environment & the human (or life) come together, as two sides of a single coin. BACKGROUND & art! I am alluding to the all-important Buddhist concept of interdependent origination. This gets away from CAUSE-AND-EFFECT thinking, which we love to expose our children to at the earliest possible age. This thinking insists "God & the Universe MUST have a beginning. We cannot accept "They just are!" III Do I intend to use textbooks? Let me suggest books by Carl Jung, Alan Watts, and Jiddu Krishnamurti. That is necessary. However, I would say my preferred textbook is the Bible. However, I need to NOT lose you before we talk about "unThinking skills." Western thinkers since at least Martin Luther's time, began to say that independent thinking makes us worthy humans & Christians. What we possibly meant is that "meditating" is vital for a full life. There's a difference: meditation reduces thinking & thinking increases THINKING! Our thinking is too conceptual; Reality is non-conceptuall. Hinduism calls it ADVAITA One-ness. When we think, we "create" things. The word THINK is really THING, or THING-MAKING. When we think long & one-sidedly about anyone or anything, we are just DESCRIBING. We use poor things, words, to communicate a "person's essence" or a moth's. That is why Jesus (Matthew 7:1) commanded, "Do not judge others ... lest ye be judged." Words render judgment. When I say, "My brother is short," I have judged. I described his height in a slippery slope to adding more words, NOT REALITY. Reduce thinking! Next time, How to reduce UNPRODUCTIVE thinking.
