A Sonnet To My Mother: the Grateful Son
When I often think of my existence, My subconscious can only imagine the unbearable pain endured by thee. The Creator must have gone into tearful silence, As you endeavored to give life to me. O what unshakable firmness you summoned to have my embrace, And the sweet sensations of my warm touch. Yet ‘tis that pain that lighten up your face, And bro’t forth joy to your glorious world. In love abound, your arms cradled me peacefully; I was well nurtured, in-spite of many challenges and for that, please take the credit. The fabulous memories can’t all be recalled accurately, But your harmonious lullaby, how can I forget it? From this present time, to the moment earth shall perish Dear Mother, your loving arms, I will forever cherish.
