Our Founding Fathers
Our Founding Fathers By Franklin Price 04/04/2020 Our founding fathers had a dream That's how the U.S.A. began They pledged their lives together For freedom of their fellow man It wasn't all about themselves But their negotiated sights For all the people on the Earth And what they thought were human rights Their fight led to independence From Royal England far away They framed up the Constitution And Bill of Rights we have today Life, Liberty and Happiness They promised us, we could pursue Should be the rights of everyone But they're not free for me and you Their pursuit has not been easy But it was never meant to be Must give some to one another Our promised freedom isn't free It's all about the common good, Without preventing each pursuit, From this our country's tree has grown This was our Founding Fathers' root It seems that we have lost the way Now that our population's grown We look for help from Washington Don't want to go it on our own Put our reps on their high horses They have become our royalty They have not done so well for us I think that's very plain to see All of us have been infected, Not by some virus that is here, But by ignoring the direction Our founding Fathers held so dear
