Quarantine
I feel like we are living in a cruel and darkened cloud, Places that we used to go no longer we’re allowed. Things we took for granted are now passing out of sight, Maybe we’ve done something wrong, or not done something right. We heard that it was coming but we must have closed our ears, For a virus with no antidote is of our greatest fears, We’re searching for an answer but it seems there is no end, No gathered groups, no party fun, we shouldn’t touch our friend. Now I am sitting here today beneath a sunny sky, Content for once to be alone and watch that old Hawk fly, The birds are fine, the dogs still bark and trees begin to bloom, That gives me faith that we’re okay and this won’t be our doom. I’ve sanitized, I’ve stayed at home and said so many prayers, I know we will pull through this thing, I know our Savior cares, But still I’m sad that such a fate has spread across our land, It’s nothing like we’ve ever known, how can we take a stand? We must be strong together as we watch this giant fall, Looking forward to a brighter day and better life for all. Quarantine contest. Sponsor: Julie Leigh Rodeheaven
