Mama's Day
Mama’s Day. . Each time I see a perky robin Or a poppy among a field of rye A snow capped mountain Or a vibrant rainbow in the sky A dainty flower Or a squirrel in a tree I think of you And in my heart and mind You're here again Close to me . Each time I see a foal Fawn or newborn lamb In a wood Or looking out to sea I know they made your heart smile They meant so much to you And now mean so much to me . Though sadly gone but not forgotten Your still around As when I look in the mirror I see Your likeness reflected back to me . One special day Not far now We will meet again In a much better place than this And we will be able to catch up With the things we have missed . You’ll dance with my Father once again And joy and smiles will be written On all our long departed friends . We’ll ride white horses together On an endless beach Toward the most beautiful sunset There’s ever been And the tears and heartache of yesterday We will forget. . Peter Dome©2020.
