The One Who Never Was
With legs quiveringing I stood, Over a mountain so high, Never had I thought, I would, Reach where only some birds fly. Afraid to take a step wrong, And take a fall, far too long, I walked the pace of a kid, Never adieu I wanted to bid, To the heaven to where I had made, And stand so tall and still not be dead A gust of wind pushed me then, Over the edge, so I went, Got hold of my breath back, when, I could feel a hand was lent. An angel, I thought it was, But then it didn't suit my laws, Took me a while to fathom, It was no nymph who had come, But my own self holding on, Now with the delusion gone. A rock I had gripped while on, My way down to paradise; I could feel a new me born, With strength enough to rise. That was the time when I thought, All our wars are to be fought, With nobody by our side, Then why do we get so tied, To the one who never was, With all his exempted flaws?
