A Gorgeous Night
It is a gorgeous night lit up with hues of blues and oranges The sky feels as magical as it has ever felt; children play and laugh. My hands lift the jar to the sky, I sacrifice nothing, but gain much. The moon is above me now, in a less than crescent smile, sideways My hands are illuminated by the jar, and I can see my bones They are proud to be part of this universal sight; we are one. It thrills me that the night and my flesh are iridescent in a way. Actually my feelings are all over the place but mostly at peace. We rarely celebrate an evening like this; it is an Indian summer vibe. All feels all right with the world; a cosmic willingness to forgive each other Stress free, I gaze at the stars, wondering if they know they are spectacular They twinkle a greeting I rarely remember to appreciate but I do now. I am infatuated with the combination of what I hold in my hands And the arms of the universe that hold me and the butterflies The Mason Jar’s glass edges showing us our inner truth Uniting us in all ways of this world, a delicate night.
