So Cries the Dove
The mourning dove cries soft and low "Where ARE you, you, you..." Breezes soflty blow, lifting the humidity for a gasp of too brief, cool air Silent is the robin as she eyes the cat slinking through the grasses below her nest "Where ARE you, you, you.." Mighty trees sing boldly at a whisper as the wind gusts with urgency... trying to drive away the heat that beats down with the unbearable weight of lethargy "you, you, Where ARE you, you, you..." Afternoon sun finally gives way to evening shades, submitting its weary grasp, a tenuous hold flora and fauna sigh relief as the heat retreats on the heels of the sun New life is born into the air with the coolness of waxing shadows stretching across the land Soon the stars, will be winking promises and dreams will shoot across the sky "Where ARE you, you , you..." the question goes unanswered.
