The Breaking of Dawn
Did I say goodbye? I can’t remember, but it don’t matter now, she will be waiting, for me to come home, and she keeps on forgiving somehow. She always worries, when it gets late. She says she can’t sleep on her own. That’s what she told me, in the heat of the moment, and next day she says she’ll be gone. But she hasn’t left yet, so her threats can’t be real, so why should I change for the better. And if she did leave, I’m sure that I, wouldn’t take long to forget her. Because the bar rules are my rules that matter, with booze and pretty girls ‘til the morn - but when I walked through our door one sunrise, I was there for the breaking of Dawn. From midnight to four, she must have been crying, and that’s when she made up her mind. Two cases of clothes, and one heart that’s torn - the rest she just left behind. Because the bar rules are my rules that matter, with booze and pretty girls ‘til the morn - but when I walked through our door one sunrise, I was there for the breaking of Dawn. Yes Dawn is broken, and I broke her heart. She just couldn’t wait for the morn. I should be ashamed, for what I have done, to bring on the breaking of Dawn.
