Enter Poem or Quote (Required) Two Prince Cats There was a kingdom That had two princes The princes were highly sought for So they brought a challenge For their courters to go through Both turned into slinking cats That could run and hide Easily enough from anyone That meant them harm Both wore a necklace That sparkled with its gems The challenge was to Gain the cats’ trust Enough to get the necklace From around their necks Many tried, many failed Until come two people Who used different methods To gain the cats’ trust One used kindness, caring, Thoughtfulness, and stayed With the cat even if it Did not feel comfortable They stayed with the cat To help it feel better And less anxious and uncomfortable By singing and soothing the cat Any way that they could Another used persistence And passion, staying Even when unwanted And staying when The cat felt too close And felt the emotions were too much To handle and felt overwhelmed They stayed and got close To the cat, gaining its trust And helped the cat feel And let emotions flourish Both suitors gained the cats’ Trust enough to get the necklaces Both princes come back To being human so they Could be with the two That completed the challenged And won their hearts Love was won out Using kindness, caring, And understanding; And compassion, Persistence, and passion Written on January 23, 2020 Contest: Let the Pens Flow - Narrative Poetry Contest Sponsor: Jenish Somadas
