Christmas Letter
Little Ben picked up an ink pen, To write a letter to his father, Sat at his little table and chair, In his mother’s bedroom up stair! He started with salutation ‘Hi’! Which at writing was his first, first try, He followed it up with list of toys, cars and trains and such playthings for boys. At age of two he did very well, To pen his wishes to dad, to tell, He scribed mostly dashes or beads, That only a child of two could read. He folded his letter, two and square, Put it in envelope with due care, On the top he put ‘dad’ as label, Next day, gave it at kitchen table! His father said ‘oh Ben’ what is this?, Ben said proudly ‘it’s my Christmas wish’, Mum and dad smiling lined up to read, Admiring Tot’s write in lines and beads! That Christmas for Ben was very special, His gifts were in many shiny parcels, All from his list he said he would need, That only his loving parents could read!!
