Color Me Orange
Topsy turvy so much of the time. Wretched, weary, worn, and out of line. Never have been that strong, constantly doing something wrong. Up and down, falling to the ground. Everyday is spinning me around. Sometimes feeling smart and sound. Other times, feeling like a clown. In disguise, no surprise, inside dying. Laughing, eating, and so much lying. Still I'm sane through all the pain. Take me out of this hot summer fire. No shelter, no security, no one will hire. So alone, so lost, so broke, no home. Can't seem to figure out where I belong. So I day by day continue to roam. Longing for the day I'll build my own nest. I thrive and thrive to do my best. But for now, take me to late September, to early fall. Pick me up, color me orange, but don't let me fall. Orange because, in Autumn, it's so stunning to all. I prefer to say 'hello' than to say 'goodbye'. Oh, so dry inside, I cannot hide it or deny. I find no tears, but I want so badly to cry. Can it rain without clouds in the sky? I'm not a windstorm, cyclone, or hurricane, but sometimes, I'm like a hobo jumping on a train. I'm only human like you, so simple and plain. I know it's dangerous and a little insane, but it beats sleeping in the rain. 011120PoSoupCtest, Strand Choice "J", Brain Strand
