Schizophrenia
It was Solar eclipse that weak, Strange things suddenly unfolded, All the animals began to speak, But my wife was dumb founded! For the first time in my married life, Nearly twenty years and a nine, Not a word from my loving wife, Not a sneer, not a single whine!! Animals, however, could all speak, From pets at home to farm sheep, The crow said ‘hello’ through its beak, In a voice rough but still deep! Our cat looked out of the window, And complained of incessant rain, And my dog barked at the rainbow, And admired the colourful stain! The pigeon, sparrow and the hog, Could all speak the local slang, I performed a duet with the dog, the birds cheered us, as we sang! My wife wasn’t at all so pleased, With my happy jolly singing mood, my neighbours all thought me weird, And stopped talking to me for good! Then one Friday, it was morning, There was a loud buzz at the door, When wife answered the ringing, I was suddenly pinned to the floor! Some masked men in white coats, rushed at me from a white van, Asked me questions, scribbled notes, Bundled me away as fast as one can! I was speed driven to their local place, To a room that was securely locked, I was knocked out without a trace, Before I was repeatedly shocked!! Two weeks of drugs and treatment, Then eventually ready to be home, Letters of greetings and endearments, From families and friends at home! Though life is back to what it was, My wife’s talk is hard to ignore! She keeps telling me who is boss, And my pets don’t talk any more!
