Enter Poem or Quote (Required)Required When it breaks all the memories are gone, and you sit alone and wonder just what you did wrong All of your dreams are shattered and torn apart, just like the pieces of your broken heart Looking back on my life this was once the way that I felt, and I start to remember me as my sixteen-year-old self An innocent girl that believed in dreams, and that love could last a lifetime or so then it seemed But oh, was I ever wrong in thinking that he was the one for me, but back then he was all that I lived for, he was the reason that I breathed I would cry all night after losing him living in denial, and doing anything in my power just to see him so that I could see his smile I was obsessed some would say, and they wouldn’t be wrong in thinking that he consumed my days I had never been in love and he was my first, so I never had a broken heart before I didn’t know how much it hurts I missed out I feel like on so much back then, but he was my world and I didn’t want to listen I wanted to drown in the pain all that I wanted to do was cry, I wanted answers from him I wanted to know why I guess that he was young too and inexperienced like me, so he didn’t know what he wanted either, but he knew it wasn’t me We both had the rest of our lives ahead of us to live and enjoy, but he moved on with his and I was left still longing for that boy What I wouldn’t give to know then what I know now, if I could just hold the old me and tell her not to cry that everything will work out “That he may have been your first at a lot of things, but he will not be your last, don’t live your life in pain, don’t dwell on the past” “Love him and move on and remember the good times, remember how he made you feel then” with your sixteen-year-old eyes Remember his sweet touch and remember your first kiss, and remember how he took your innocence and just remember the bliss Because this may be the first but there will be more up ahead, those you will love with all your heart and so many things you will wish you would have said There will be times of misery and times of true bliss, there will be slow dances and arms around you that you will forever miss There will be so much love that you will feel so much more than you can stand, but believe me when you meet the one you will understand He is up ahead many years down the road, take your time and treasure these moments before you get old He will be there waiting if things are still meant to be, but I hope that the sixteen-year-old you will do things differently I hope that when you meet him that you know that he is the one, and when you look into his eyes that you will hear my voice whispering in your ear “you won” I hope that you treasure every moment that you spend with him, and that you store up all these memories for me so that I can remember again Just know that there is a reason for the heartache and the pain that you feel, because when he comes along one day this will be proof that true love is real.
