Oranges Yum Yum
During the depression if you got an orange in your sock You could feel blessed and lucky, and it felt like Christmas. Orange tea and orange cake delight me in all kind of ways but Marmalade I eat every morning on toast is the sweetest orange of all. Smeared on my toast, I smile at the bits and pieces of peeling I know are going to wake up my taste buds and say “hello”. Orange marmalade jam. Nothing like it. Nothing close to it. No other taste comes close although jalapeno peppers give me a perk too. When all else fails, and we are out of marmalade I might break down and have mandarin oranges But they do no justice to a sweet juicy recently peeled orange. My taste buds are going crazy as I type this. I will have to stop at the store now. Bringing home marmalade, oranges, and orange cake mix. Yum. Yum.
