If She Needed - - -
(ON THE DAY OF HER FUNERAL) if she needed the light, i would have roped the sun- for she was my reverie of sight, (my only one) for words can never express my depth, metaphors can’t give ease to my pain- for she was the one who rescued me, and i am perpetually grateful; her slightly slanted chestnut eyes resonate within my inner core, still after nine years i can’t forget her ethereal laugh sunday morning coffee with her- sitting and believing in each other, remembering why we were so attached, and feeling the emotions only sisters have the capability to feel if she needed tears, i would have given an ocean- relieved all her fears, (shown genuine devotion) she’s the magic holding the stars up, though the sky she painted was never blue- it was yellow when she flew with eagles, the color of joy when sorrow prevailed; yes, she left without warning, tragedy called her name without answers, but she is the light that i would rope, and through her death i’ve learned to cope i stand up here and spread her love; sowing seeds that could never be blown across lavender fields and pine trees she traded places with an angel, and will be remembered until grains run out of the hourglass she fought so hard to build --- with arthritic hands that never gave up if she needed the sky, i’d give her the northern lights- bestowing peace as I cry, (seeing beautiful sights) ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “i love you and miss you- sleep with angels, dear sister” 12.8.19 Memorial of a Loved One Sponsor - Chantelle Anne Cooke
