A.K.A. Michael Smith
At first It was his poems content and their truth That caught my eye For I know all about Cold And how hard it can be Dealing with the streets Although thousands of miles And more than thirty years separate us I can feel and relate to every word that he writes I truly wish I could take all of my understanding And place it inside of his soul But all I can do is pray That my words can touch his heart And help him find his way Through the hell of his six mile block Kareem Through the picture on my blog You discovered that I am not black I pray that through my words You can feel That I am still your brother Written for one very talented 16 year old poet on our site. I hope he beats the streets that devour so many of our youth for if he does I know he will shine. God Bless
