Black On Black Crime
I remember, oh I remember when... Comedian Chris Rock once cracked wise about black on black crime on stage He had entire audience in stitches about "gun violence is going down" on every Martin Luther King, Jr Boulevard in America Even I was in stitches, too! But then I paused mid-laughter because I knew it was indeed true! Suddenly, it was no laughing matter. Then I wondered if the audience were also wondering why they were laughing. This shouldn't make Black folks laugh! What Dr. King would think of his fellow black man gunning down another black man on the street named after him? I bet he wouldn't find it funny if he were alive today! Black on black crime is an abomination; sad reality that continues to plague the African-American community day after day. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. never saw such a travesty in the dream he had in 1963. This dishonor to his memory is absolutely shameful! Date written: 11/29/2019
