11 Eleven 11
POEM " 11 ELEVEN 11" by martin gedge Take this moment and close your eyes and bow your heads in prayer remember those who stood on guard whose hearts on sleeves they wear a country north both strong and free those rights and freedoms gave the fronts of which their lives they fought for soldiers proud and brave they line the folds in battle cry the strength of every boot to stand the land on human rights with every arm salute a simple crest upon the chest we hold our heads up high and watch them soar across the blue through heavens as they fly and from the sea they sail the tide to borders far unknown with letters from a sailors heart to bring each soldier home from whence a child I never knew or understood the war why they fought and why they killed and what we're fighting for I took for granted all I had never thinking of the choice until I heard our anthem sung in unison and voice I don't believe the future holds a place for human kind we have to stop destroying earth with games that rule the mind and offer help to those abroad in gods of many face to take from fist to open arms with peace and saving grace these flowers lay in Flanders field upon the earth they grow and one to each a coat lapel for every walking soul to stand with pride with hand on heart as silence fills the room upon the wind a million tears for every poppy bloom and true to word for those who speak let not for us to stray and torch the light to shine so bright on heroes as they lay......
