Ludix-Rym -Five Decades An Adult
My first ten years (or childhood), I'd say were pretty great. although my confidence could easily deflate. To be a teen - For this I could not wait! I wanted a nice boyfriend and loved that first big date! I learned a lot, like how to watch my weight. On reaching age 18, I then wiped clean my slate, for I was bound for college and did not hesitate. I left my home and childhood behind; I left my state. In less than two more years, I was married to my mate. Two children I would give him well before age twenty-eight. College I had finished, and I had a nice job too once my first ten years of adulthood were all through. We moved away when hubbie got a job that was brand new. In California we wound up. I never had a clue of all the different kinds of things I was soon to do. The five years there were heaven, and little did I rue. I learned to teach aerobics and rarely was I blue. Boating trips we took back then, more than just a few. There were thrift shopping and movies, and quickly the time flew as money for a house we were able to accrue. Back we went to our home state, where my husband Joe built the house where we still live (some thirty years ago)! In decade three of my adulthood, needing lots of dough because of mortgage payments, I got a new job, so I worked a lot of hours. Goodbye to that rainbow of life near San Francisco. We live closer now to Idaho! My husband's hard work and my own were paying off although hubbie had a breakdown, and that brought us lots of woe, but I saw my two kids, older now, into adulthood grow. Decade 4 of my adulthood started pretty bright. This was when I realized that poems I could write. My daughter had her babies, which brought me much delight, but the year 2008 sure gave us all a fright! I would write my poetry for hours into night. Hubbie changed his occupation; things turned out all right. Issues with my neck and shoulder I would have to fight. Stress came more, and like my spouse, I also felt its bite because for a few years, our money got quite tight. Yet through it all, I had great friends to make my burdens light. Phase five I am in now; I'd have never guessed my fate, yet I feel so happy for the things I can create. My life and times through poetry I often can review, and I'm having faith in things I hope will help my health renew. I love the many little things that make my spirit glow, and there are other things that I've been learning to let go. Achievements in my writing have just been out of sight! What a way to go if I'm heading to my twilight. I hope that up to phase 8 of adulthood I may see and (if I get to go that far) that I'll do it healthily.
