Murder
His life was filled with honor He gave back to his brother With love and tender caring Sincerity that was precious I loved him and his kindness With a sense of innocence that defines us He was alive one day, talking And the next he’d disappeared No one could find him And there came a bold fear He was discovered beside the river A body beaten and gone from life His only sin had been to be vulnerable To the man who had betrayed him With pills, promises and assault That would never bring about a thought Of all that the Lord had given him The one who had lost everything For being a real friend to him, The one who assaulted and murdered him His life was taken on that night In the year 2009 But the memories of his love and light Will be with me until the end And I expect to see him there On heaven’s celestial shores Where I’ll give to him The hug that I didn’t the last time I saw him here.
