The Nude Ghost
There has been a tale of a ghost in the local opera house Many reports claim she has been seen with her spouse Skeptics say it’s a foolish made-up tale without a doubt One late night we decide to go to there to check it out The opera house is a gorgeous historical landmark It looks majestic and also very creepy in the dark We park on the street and walk up to the back door The door was locked, how did anyone get in before? We decide to walk away and head toward our car We walk a few feet but don’t get very far When we hear faint opera music from outside We turn around to see the back door now open wide Feeling excited and fearful of what may be in store As we enter the opera house for a dark mini tour After a quiet and uneventful tour, we decide to leave Maybe it's all fake, we are not sure what to believe We get into our car to head home for the night When we hear opera music again and see lights We can see the lit-up large staircase through the glass And catch the nude ghost descending the stairway to pass 10/12/19 Contest: Nude - descending a staircase poetry contest Sponsor: John Lawless
